  • Introducing an exciting new feature category: “Canadian Grain-Forward Beer”
  • Canada Beer Cup trophy awarded to best-in-show
  • For the industry, by the industry
  • All proceeds support the Canadian Craft Brewers Association
  • $2.00 from every entry support the Inclusion & Anti-discrimination committee’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts

Celebrating Canadian Excellence

The 2023 competition will present awards in 66 distinct style groups across 11 categories, as evaluated by a panel of elite Canadian and international beer experts, overseen by internationally acclaimed beer writer and author Stephen Beaumont.

We were also excited to announce a new 2023 feature category, Canadian Grain-Forward Beer. It is widely acknowledged that Canadian farmers produce some of the finest grain in the world, and this category is designed to highlight that fact. Beers entered may be of any style, but should in aroma and flavour emphasize the grain used in their production. All manner of Canadian-grown grains are permitted, malted or unmalted, and complexity of malt/grain character is desired.

NEW! $2.00 from every entry will support the CCBA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

Additionally, judges will select a single, stand-out beer to be distinguished as Best In Show. The winning brewery will take home the Canada Beer Cup and be awarded one entry into 2024 World Beer Cup® competition.

The awards ceremony will take place in conjunction with the Ontario Craft Brewers Conference on October 25, 2023. The event will also be live-streamed with viewing parties taking place from coast to coast to coast.
