Beer Styles

The competition features 48 unique beer categories.

There is no maximum number of entries, and you may enter multiple beers in a single style group. However, you may enter each beer in only one style group, with the exception of the Feature Category and the Packaging Awards.

If you require assistance assigning your brand to the proper style group, please contact info@canadabeercup.com. It is the responsibility of each brewery to enter its beer in the correct style group, however the Canada Beer Cup team will do its best to rectify any miscategorizations.

Cider Styles

The 2026 Competition features five cider categories. The cider categories are listed on the Beer Awards Platform under the beer categories.

Packaging Awards

It’s time to celebrate the efforts that go into giving your beer that extra bit of personality, that shares the magic inside of the vessel, and that makes it stand out on the shelves. Canada Beer Cup Packaging Awards aim to recognize the details, the brand, and the life that your packaging brings to the beers you love to brew.

Has a design agency helped you find your way? Entering your beer into the Canada Beer Cup Packaging Awards is a great opportunity to reach out to them, and see if they want to help you put the work they’ve done with you forward.

Did the design happen in house? Entering the Canada Beer Cup packaging awards will provide your marketing team with constructive feedback from industry professionals, and provide the opportunity to have your designs showcased on the national stage. Designs will evaluated based on a comprehensive rubric.

SHIPMENT OF PHYSICAL PRODUCT IS NOT REQUIRED TO ENTER THE CANADA BEER CUP PACKAGING AWARDS.

All judging will take place digitally

Packaging Awards are comprised of three distinct categories:

  1. SINGLE
  2. SERIES
  3. COMMUNITY & COLLABORATIONS

The Packaging Awards categories can be found on the Beer Awards Platform under the Beer and Cider categories.
